MRC is a leader in custom rubber and plastic products, specializing in molding and designing parts for a wide range of industries. The project highlighted here consisted of right and left rocker panels as well as a rear decklid spoiler for a 2013 Buick Regal GS. MRC was involved in all aspects of the project from the designing and building of the low cost aluminum reaction injection molds to developing the product manufacturing process to the creation of the final packaging, all to GM specifications. Advanced 90 to 150 ton RIM presses and a metering unit were used to manufacture the parts, which were composed of Bayflex 110-80 with filler and a thickness of 0.125". MRC teamed up with a Tier 1 finish painter to supply specialty low volume products to support the production of the 2013 Buick Regal GS program assembled in Oshawa, Ontario. The project represents a total run of parts for 3,500 vehicles annually which were delivered in 16 weeks.
